The safety of our employees at work is a core value. No other business objective has higher priority.
This Safety Policy is to guide all employees of NextEra Energy, Inc. and its affiliates (together, “NextEra Energy” or the “Company”) in pursuing their responsibility, shared with the Company, to safeguard the health and well being of everyone involved with NextEra Energy.
NextEra Energy recognizes that safety is beneficial to the employee, the family, the community, the customer and the Company. NextEra Energy is therefore committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and requires that safety should not be compromised for any other business priority. We expect companies providing services to NextEra Energy to have the same high standards of safety and health as we do.
It is the responsibility of the Company to provide the facilities, equipment, tools, procedures, safety programs and training for employees to work injury free. It is the responsibility of each employee to work safely for the benefit of the individual as well as co-workers. This responsibility includes following appropriate safety rules and planning each work activity using appropriate risk assessment, good judgment and skills, along with a sincere dedication to work safely.
Employees should not start work until they understand what work is to be done and how to do it safely. They are all expected to be engaged in the Company’s Safety Management process. Engagement includes communicating with all the parties involved about safety-related behaviors and conditions, and bringing to management’s attention those issues which require their involvement and support.
All employees in leadership positions are responsible for deploying and actively supporting the Company’s overall Safety Program. Included in this responsibility are monitoring and enforcing the use of safe working practices and safety rules.
All of us, through our leadership, commitment and engagement must accept the challenge to work safely and actively to pursue injury and illness prevention. Our employees, business partners, community and customers will all benefit. NextEra Energy encourages all employees to carry this strong health and safety value beyond the workplace to all of their activities.
There are many. Readi-Power® Program is one of a few of companies that provide the entire solution, fuel supply, permitting, and generator installation. With Readi-Power® Program you know that the company will be here when you need us. Readi-Power Program works hard to make you aware of all the costs upfront to avoid surprises during the construction phase.
There is a significant amount of coordination involved in installing a generator and Readi-Power® Program handles all the coordination, which reduces the amount of time you need to be involved. For example Readi-Power® Program provides the first year preventive maintenance, and if you need a propane tank, we fill the tank the first time. We do this so that you know the total cost up front, and so that you aren't left to handle these things on your own.
Call 1-844-MY-FPLES for the current estimated installation timeframes. Installation intervals can vary significantly depending on the workload of the governing authority, weather conditions, availability of suppliers and more. The best advice is to get started early.
There are many reasons it sometimes takes a what seems to be a long time to have a generator installed. First, like any other hurricane related item, generators are in great demand. Additionally, the supply and work load of qualified electric and fuel contractors could be an issue. The filing and approval by city and county governments of construction and fuel permits as well as approval by home owners associations, and weather-related delays all add to the timeline. While installing a generator with a fuel supply sounds like a simple process there are actually many steps involved in the process.
There are many suppliers for smaller size generators that can provide the essential necessities during a hurricane. Readi-Power® Program is one of the few companies that specialize in providing a total household solution of fuel and generator, so we have focused our business on fulfilling those needs.
Most municipalities require a generator to be at least 10 feet off the property line and the generator must be five to ten feet from the side of your house. A generator with the pad is about five feet wide. That means you need approximately 20 to 25 feet on the side of your house to place a generator. The generator can be placed in the back yard, but that may drive up the cost. The only way to be sure is to contact Readi-Power® Program for a site visit.
No, this is a preventive maintenance plan that is designed to keep your generator in optimal running condition, so that it is always ready if an outage occurs.
Check your owner's manual, but most manufacturers recommend every six months or after 50 hours of running time.
Only if FPL Energy Services Readi-Power® Program installed your generator, in which case you should call 1-800-355-8290. If someone else installed the generator you should call them in an emergency.
Our licensed technicians who have been trained and certified by the manufacturer.
Once you call 1-800-334-1960 a representative will contact you within a week and will send you a contract that needs to be signed and returned. After that they will put you into the schedule based on manufacturer's recommended service schedule. If it has been more than six months since your last service, we will try to get you scheduled quickly.
You made a substantial investment when you installed a backup generator for your home. With the proper preventive maintenance plan, you can continue to protect your investment. The Readi-Power® Program offers comprehensive and thorough maintenance plans to make sure your home is ready for hurricane season.
Signing up is easy too! Just call 1-844-MY-FPLES for additional details. Representatives are available M-F, 8 am - 5 pm EST.
Readi-Power® Program extended preventive maintenance plans are:
